FAQ

  • Purpose of 20 min discovery call

We ask you about your pain and other symptoms. We review your goals and discuss the 3-step process for your recovery.

  • What to expect during the initial eval?

The initial evaluation is approximately an hour long. We review your medical history and perform special full body testing. We then analyze the test results and create a personalized program for you. We explain the findings and the plan. Treatment is initiated on the first visit.

  • Why we offer packages?

Providing packages for our clients allows us to work with clients that are invested and committed to their health. You also benefit from a discounted rate if you purchase a package. You can purchase a package at any time during your recovery process. Your therapist will be able to discuss this with you in more detail.  â€‹

  • What we specialize in?

Back Pain, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Sports-Related Injuries/Recovery

  • What other diagnoses have we worked with?

Neck pain, Shoulder pain, Headchaes, Hip pain, Knee pain, Ankle sprains, Achilles tendinitis, Post-surgical, Vertigo

  • What is cash-based physical therapy?

Cash-based physical therapy means that we do not take insurance directly. If you have insurance, we can provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. In a cash-based practice, you have the flexibility for a variety of payment options, including cash, credit/debit, HSA/FSA accounts. We also partner with CareCredit, which aids in the ability for patients to start their therapy today and pay later.

  • Why don’t you take my insurance?

We don’t take your insurance because insurance companies try to limit the services and amount of therapy visits we can offer to you. If you have insurance, you have to pay for your therapy visits out of pocket and we are able to provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. At Route 2 Recovery, you will know exactly what your cost will be without having to worry about getting random bills in the mail later on.

  • What is a superbill?

A superbill is an itemized receipt provided for patients to submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • How do I know if I will be reimbursed from my insurance?

You can contact the number on the back of your insurance card and find out what your out-of-network benefits are. Most patients qualify for 50-80% reimbursement.

  • Do I need a referral for physical therapy?

The short answer is no. You have direct access to Physical Therapy, meaning you can be evaluated and treated for up to 10-15 days, without the need of a referral. Your physical therapist will provide more information at your first visit.

  • Do I need to get imaging done prior to my evaluation?

Doctors of Physical Therapy have been trained on differential diagnoses of musculoskeletal conditions and can evaluate and treat you, without the need of X-rays, MRIs or CT scans, if deemed appropriate. We take the time to review your medical, physical and social history, put all the pieces together and come up with a personalized program for you. If there are any red flags in our findings, then we will refer you out to the appropriate medical professional.

  • I was recently diagnosed with arthritis, what does that mean?

Being diagnosed with arthritis is a common finding. Arthritis means “inflammation in the joints”. There is no cure for arthritis but exercise is the best way to manage the symptoms. Physical therapy has helped a lot of patients with this condition.

  • Can I be treated with therapy if I have a herniated or bulging disc?

Yes, having a herniated disc may sound scary but the reality is that there may be a lot more going on with your body than just the herniated disc. It is usually not the only reason for your pain. Herniated discs have been shown to have the ability to heal, with the proper therapy. At Route 2 Recovery, we perform special tests to see how your whole body is functioning. We highly recommend you seek professional guidance from a PT that you trust so that you can be able to move freely again.

  • How to know if Route 2 Recovery is the right fit for you?

Choosing a physical therapy provider should be a priority. Don’t just go where your doctor is referring you to. Do your research. Ask the therapist questions. Most cash-based practices offer a discovery call prior to your visit so that you can ask any questions or bring up any concerns you may have. The best way to know if we are the right fit for you is to schedule a FREE 15 minute Discovery Call.
